Yasmin J. Mattox, Founder & CEO
A New York City native, by way of Harlem, Arkatecht’s Founder & CEO, Yasmin J. Mattox, is now a proud Rochesterian. She attended Hunter College Elementary and High Schools, and graduated from high school on Long Island. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Alfred University in 2007, and went on to earn a Master of Science degree in International Studies from St. John Fisher College in 2011.
She has worked in the legal, mental health, renewable energy, and higher education fields, with the common thread being her interest and expertise in using interdisciplinary research as a foundation for informing problem solving for issues big and small. From 2012 until 2016, she owned a social science research and consulting firm, conducting psychosocial-oriented research and analysis for a variety of businesses in the United States as well as overseas. She excels in conducting mixed methods research.
She is married with three young daughters.
Kiendra Dee Simpson, Interdisciplinary Research Intern
Kiendra Dee Simpson graduated from Elmira High School in 2016 and from SUNY Alfred State in May 2018 with an A.A. in Liberal Arts: Social and Behavioral Sciences. She is now enrolled at University at Buffalo pursuing a B.A. in Psychology. Simpson plans to ultimately pursue a doctorate in Psychology so she may teach at the university level and conduct research.
With research experience from Alfred State, and a passion for and curiosity about developmental and social psychology, Kiendra joins Arkatecht as Interdisciplinary Research Intern assisting with efforts contextualizing academic, industry, and market research findings concerning professional women and motherhood, both in the United States and abroad.
